My Summer Thoughts Always Drift Towards Maine
There are moments (typically after I have been sitting at my desk in front of a computer for several hours) when I drift off and imagine myself lazily dangling off of a hammock tied in between two large and blooming pagoda dogwoods (I can almost smell the salty Atlantic and feel the periodic mist of the tide)...

...or linger amid the well worn canoe oars and fly fishing rods haphazardly stored in an old tin umbrella stand.
When I need an escape..
ReplyDeletedepending on the season..
most times...I go home to Florida..
literally and figuratively..
because that is where my sister lives..
she is my best friend..
she understands me so much better than even I do!!
but if it is autumn..
nothing beats the colorful foliage of forests in New England!the aroma of apples in the crisp air, farmers markets with orange pumpkins and fresh squeezed apple cider..and the smell of cinnamon everywhere!
yes,,just close my eyes.. and remember!
and I'm there!
warm sandy hugs..
